Minutes of the Old Lyme Economic Development Commission Meeting of 10/1/14
Meeting commenced at 8 AM in the Old Lyme Town Hall. Present were Bob Jose, Susan Howard, John Stratton, Bill O’Meara and Gerry Foster.
We discussed the following topics:
1. Real estate news from last month showed 96 sold in town so far this year with 153 listings and 16 under contract. Market appears to have slowed particularly $400M and up, however, plenty of late summer closings reduced inventory and under contracts.
2.The UNH/ Lyme Academy merger has been completed and so far many administrative positions have been reduced in Old Lyme and teaching positions remain firm. The physical plant has been reconditioned and updated which looks great for the Town, Lyme Street and the school. We have been told that enrollment is up for the year.
- No new news on Soundview development program nor Main Street grant.
